Obituary for Eileen H. Thoubboron

Eileen H.  Thoubboron
Eileen H. Thoubboron, 95, formerly of 141 Sampson Parkway, Pittsfield, died Tuesday April 4, 2017 at Craneville Place of Dalton where she has resided for the past year and a half. Born in Malden, Massachusetts on March 26, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Manuela (Katz) Hapke. She was a 1937 graduate of Bay Ridge High School in Brooklyn, N.Y. and she attended the University of Wisconsin Madison.

Eileen owned and managed “Independent Home Services,” a home care business in Pittsfield for ten years prior to selling it in 1987. She was a volunteer for Hospicecare in the Berkshires and a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, where she was a lector as well as a Eucharistic Minister. She was also a member of the Vineyard Community at Cranwell in Lenox. She was recognized as a four-gallon blood donor at Berkshire Medical Center and she loved animals, especially dogs. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Eileen is survived by her son, John F. Thoubboron of Richmond, Vermont, and her six daughters; Mary Ginley (husband, Jerry) of Venice, Florida, Eileen Shugart (husband, Jim) of Port Charlotte, Florida, Anne Knickerbocker (husband, Clark) of Houston, Texas, Paula Beck (husband, Tom) of Chester, Massachusetts, Kimberly Bortolussi (husband, Jay) of Andover, Massachusetts, and Karen Ross (husband, Don) of Pittsfield, Massachusetts. She also leaves 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Jane Christine Thoubboron and a sister, Mildred E. Whiteman.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Eileen H. Thoubboron who passed away April 4, 2017 will be held Friday at 12:00 PM at Sacred Heart Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Memorial donations in memory of Eileen may be made to Hospice Care in the Berkshires care of the DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 BRADFORD STREET, PITTSFIELD, MA 01201, which is handling arrangements.
