Obituary for Barbara J Wuinee

Barbara J. Wuinee, 80, of Dalton, MA, passed away Tuesday September 11, 2018 at Berkshire Medical Center after a short illness.

Born in Pittsfield on June 19, 1938 Barb was the daughter of Carlton and Jean Mularski Ballard. A resident of Dalton the majority of her life, she was a 1956 graduate of Dalton High School.

Barb was employed as a bookkeeper for many years having worked at General Electric, City Savings Bank, The Stanley Club and at the accounting firm of Nelson & Furlano. Upon ‘retirement’ she opened her own business, Barbara’s Business Services, where she served many clients with daily bookkeeping, payroll, and tax preparation. Barb continued with this work, a passion of hers, through this past summer.

A lifelong communicant of St. Agnes Church, Barb volunteered in many different areas of service to the Church throughout her life and was an early member of the Rosary Society. She enjoyed golfing and playing pitch at Berkshire Hills Country Club as well as attending live music events and drum corps competitions with her friend Tom. She also looked forward to attending her grandchildren's sporting events and dance recitals.

She cherished her family, immediate and extended, leaving in memory two daughters, Sharon Spicer (and her husband Paul) of Shelton, CT, Debra Massey of Pittsfield and her son, David Wuinee currently residing in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands. She also leaves her companion and best friend, Tom Ryan of Pittsfield.

Barb predeceases her two siblings, Rosalie Parsons (and her husband Timothy) of Hilton Head, SC and her brother John Ballard (and his wife Sharon) of Dalton. Additionally, she leaves behind her grandchildren, Lauren and Jennifer Spicer, and Richard Massey III, as well as her former husband Robert Wuinee. Fondly known as Mimi, not only by her grandchildren, but by many others, Barb will be missed by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
