Obituary for Charles Troy

Charles  Troy
Charles T. Troy, 81, of Pittsfield, passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2018.

He was born on December 30, 1936, the fourth son of Agnes and Walter Troy. He was a graduate of Pittsfield High, 1955, attended UMASS, and received his Bachelor’s Degree from North Adams State College.

Charles worked in the newsroom at the Berkshire Eagle for many years, and later as Managing Editor for Laurin Publishing.

An avid reader, Charles was also a true outdoorsman who loved fly fishing, sailing, and sporting clays.

He was a member of the Sheffield Gun Club, the Italian-American Club, and a member of Theta Chi.

He leaves behind his wife, Dorothy Clark Troy, with whom he would have celebrated his 58th wedding anniversary this month. Together they had many happy years sailing the waters of Long Island Sound and beyond. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Donald, William, and Walter.

FUNERAL NOTICE: As per his wishes, there will be no funeral services. Dery Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
