Condolence From: Pat Joyce
Condolence: Dear Judy, I am very sorry to hear about your mother’s passing. I have fond memories of your mother as a Girl Scout Leader during my Brownie and Junior Scout years. I loved those after school meetings with the crafts and other activities, but I am most grateful for the time your mother wisely allowed me to try a project that she surely knew would never work. I was about 10 or 11 years old and while we were on a camping trip, I had an idea for a baking project. Your mother gently tried to tell me that she didn’t think my idea would work, but she let me proceed anyway. I remember your mother and one of the other adult leaders watching with interest as my idea began to fail miserably, but with your mother’s encouragement, it felt more like a discovery process to me than a failed effort. All these years later it still feels like your mother gave me a very special opportunity to learn that it is worth trying out our ideas, that a mistake is just a mistake, and that it can offer a chance to learn and discover. How valuable it was for me to have the guidance and support of your wise mom! She was a woman of great strength and grace. My sincere condolences to you and your family, Pat Joyce

Condolence From: Dan Burt
Condolence: I miss Grandma's excitement about the little things. She always would light up when she had a visitor or heard about new things happening in other's lives. I will always be proud to say that she lived, and did so well, to the age of 97! Can only hope that I will last that long, especially with all she went through during her long life. I also wish that I could be around while you all work to clean out her apartment and organize these next few months. I can only say that I feel very lucky that I will be able to make it for the funeral and that you all have found the time to come visit me for my graduation. Please dont hesitate to let me know if there is anything that I can help with Love you guys. Dan
