Marilyn  E  Pettit (McGovern)
Marilyn E. Pettit, 77, of Pittsfield, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Berkshire Medical Center.

She was born May 16, 1940 to the late Terrince and Emma C. Sheldan McGovern.

Mrs. Pettit was married for 47 years to the late Charles Pettit who predeceased her in December 2010.

She was primarily a homemaker, but volunteered for many years at the Christian Center in Pittsfield.

Marilyn leaves behind her children, Marilyn E. Martin (Michael) of Pittsfield, Emma C. Benlien (Bob) of Hinsdale, Charles L. Pettit II (Lynn) of Pittsfield, Katherine M. Pettit of Pittsfield, Eric P. Pettit of Pittsfield, Donna M. Collins (Johnny) of Pittsfield, Lois M. Guerrero (Rick) of Pittsfield, Denise Paglarini (Dave) of Pittsfield, and Amy A. Pettit (Jeff) of Pittsfield, sisters Margaret Writes of Pittsfield, Mildred Willis of Lanesboro, Mary Goddeau of Lanesboro, brothers, William McGovern of Pittsfield, Harry McGovern of Florida, as well as seventeen grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren

Funeral Notice: Funeral services for Marilyn E. Pettit will be held Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 1:00 p.m., Dery Funeral Home with Rev. Peter A. Gregory officiating. Calling hours will be held from 12:00 to 1:00pm prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association in care of Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
