Obituary for Helen M. Zaveruka

Mrs. Helen M. Zaveruka, 86, formerly of 7 Dexter St. Pittsfield died Saturday at Berkshire Medical Center. Born on December 11, 1920 in Montague City, MA she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Aptacy Dobosz. A longtime resident of Pittsfield she had resided at Craneville Place in Dalton since May of 2004. She was educated in Turners Falls, MA schools and was a 1938 graduate of Turners Falls High School. She married her husband, the late Peter C. Zaveruka Sr. in 1941 in Pittsfield. He died on February 25, 1997. Mrs. Zaveruka was employed at General Electric Company in Pittsfield for nineteen years retiring on January 1, 1981. Prior to General Electric she had worked at the former Campus Girl in Pittsfield. She was a communicant of Holy Family Church. She leaves a son, Peter C. Zaveruka Jr. of Lighthouse Point, FL, a daughter, Kathleen Zatorski and her husband Joseph Zatorski of Pittsfield. She also leaves two granddaughters; Jeanne Zatorski and Chrissy Zatorski both of Pittsfield.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Helen M. Zaveruka, 86, of Pittsfield who died September 29, 2007 will be held Wednesday at 8:15 AM from the DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:00 AM at Holy Family Church celebrated by the Rev. Monsignor Michael Shershanovich, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 5 to 7 PM at the Dery Funeral Home. Mrs. Zaveruka also leaves her son-in-law, Joseph Zatorski of Pittsfield and her two granddaughters Jeanne Zatorski and Chrissy Zatorski both of Pittsfield. She also leaves special people in her life; John Kerwood, Billy Kirpens and Judy Giardina. The family would like to thank the special nurse's and caregivers at Craneville Place of Dalton. We hope you will be rewarded generously from God for all the love you gave our mother and grandmother. Mrs. Zaveruka was also predeceased by a sister, the late Anna Zimnoski and a brother, the late Walter Dobosz.
