Obituary for Geneva Winifred Orzolek

Geneva Winifred Orzolek, 83, of 22 Harding St., Pittsfield, died peacefully Saturday, January 30, 2016, at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Derby, VT on February 14, 1932, the daughter of the late Verdine A. and Beatrice W. (Bishop) Kelly, she was educated in Vermont schools.
Mrs. Orzolek was a chamber maid by profession for numerous motels throughout Berkshire County until her retirement. After retirement she became active in the Prayer Shawl Ministry at Berkshire Medical Center and was responsible for knitting over 250 shawls.
Mrs. Orzolek was an active and longtime member of the Christian Assembly Church, where she assisted with the girl's ministry and also the Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry.
Mrs. Orzolek had a passion for knitting, from prayer shawls to mittens for kindergartener's and her grandchildren, she knitted it all.
She also enjoyed spending time with her family; especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mrs. Orzolek is survived by her son; Harry F. Orzolek and his wife Renee of Barton, VT., two daughters Jane M. Pfeiffer and her husband David of Pittsfield, and Catherine Rundgren and her husband Ernest, of Orleans, VT., 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, two sisters; Doris Royer and her husband Phillip of Orleans, VT., Corrine Hancock and her husband Wayne of Newport, VT., two brothers; George Kelly and his wife Nancy of Derby VT., and Norman Kelly of Troy, VT.
She was pre-deceased by her husband Harry Orzolek, a sister Bernice Plante, a brother Robert Kelly and her grandson Michael Pfeiffer.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Geneva Winifred Orzolek will be held Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at 915a.m., from DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield with a Funeral Service at Christian Assembly Church, 850 Williams Street, Pittsfield, celebrated by Pastor David McIntosh. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Bridget's Cemetery in Housatonic. Calling hours will be Tuesday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Orzolek may be made to Hospicecare in the Berkshires, in care of the funeral home.
