Obituary for Stanley W. Iwanowicz

Stanley W. Iwanowicz, 69, a long time resident of Richmond, MA, passed from this life on the 22nd of February at Berkshire Medical Center after a brief illness.
Born in Adams, MA, the son of Walter A. and Josephine T. (Gwozdz) Iwanowicz, he lived in Windsor, MA until his family moved to the Richmond farm in 1956. He was educated in local schools and was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church in West Stockbridge, MA. Stanley spent his entire life farming the land that he loved, Summit Valley Farm, and caring for his livestock. He had a tremendous love of agriculture and open space; his main goal in life, which was accomplished, was to keep the family farm intact and operating. He was a top notch mechanic who enjoyed his tractors and was capable of fixing any type of machinery. He was often sought out to advise and help family and friends.
Stanley is survived by one brother, John J. Iwanowicz and his wife Janet of Shelburne, MA; six sisters, Joanne F. Stevens of Lanesboro, MA, Anne M. Cerveira and her husband George of Richmond, MA, Theresa I. Atteridge and her husband Timothy of Amherst, MA, Elizabeth L. Gniadek and her husband Robert of Richmond, MA, Cynthia S. Iwanowicz of Richmond, MA. and Mary L. Whitaker and her husband Donald of Lanesboro, MA. He also leaves many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by his parents, brother-in-law, George C. Stevens, and his nephew, Russell G. Atteridge.
Stanley will be remembered by the many who loved him for his kind and gentle nature.

Funeral Notice: Funeral services for Stanley W. Iwanowicz, will be held Monday, February 29, 2016 at 9:00 AM., from DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM, at St. Patrick's Church in West Stockbridge celebrated by Rev. Monsignor John J. Bonzagni, Pastor. Burial will follow in St Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Sunday, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, at the DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: The St. Patrick's Church Cemetery Fund, The Anita Chapman Scholarship Fund or Farm Aid all in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
