Obituary for Barbara Ciliberti

Barbara Lena Ciliberti, of Pittsfield, passed away August 20, 2018 at the age of 103.

Born in Pittsfield on April 20, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Giuseppe and Vittoria Diaco Cencia.

She was married to Vincenzo Ciliberti on April 29, 1946, and they were married for 50 years before he predeceased her on January 21, 1997.

Mrs. Ciliberti was primarily a homemaker, having previously worked at Elm Vale Worsted Company, Glix Brand Manufacturing Co. and Rice Silk Mill.

She was a communicant of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, and most recently at St. Joseph. Mrs. Ciliberti loved spending time with her family playing cards, cooking and hosting family events.

She leaves behind her son, Joseph V. Ciliberti and his wife Sherry of Pittsfield; two daughters, Vittoria B. Rocheleau and husband Richard of Pittsfield, and Beverly A. Winters and her husband Nelson of Pittsfield; ten grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; as well as her sister Nicolina Bigelow of Pittsfield.
She was predeceased by three brothers, Joseph, Nicholas and James Cencia and three sisters, Jennie Boivin, Mary Allessio, and Florence Morton.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Mrs. Ciliberti will be held, FRIDAY, August 24, 2018 at 11:00am at DERY FUNERAL HOME, celebrated by Rev. Peter A. Gregory, Pastor Emeritus of St. Charles Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 9:30am to 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Hospice Care in the Berkshires, in care of Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
