Florence E  DelSignore

Florence Elizabeth DelSignore, 83, of 101 Burke Avenue, Pittsfield, died Monday, August 6, 2018, at Berkshire Medical Center.

Born in North Adams on August 16, 1934, the daughter of Patrick H. Gaffey and Florence Veillieux Gaffey, she attended North Adams schools and was a 1952 graduate of St. Joseph High School in North Adams.

Mrs. DelSignore was employed by the City of Pittsfield where she was a school crossing guard for twenty years. Prior to that, she had been a long-time employee of Sprague Electric Company in North Adams where she was an assembler.

Mrs. DelSignore was a communicant of St. Charles Church.

She enjoyed sewing, bingo, and cooking. She especially enjoyed taking care of all the neighborhood children.

Mrs. DelSignore leaves her husband, Lucian A. DelSignore, Jr., whom she married October 31, 1969, at the former St. Anthony of Padua Church.

She is also survived by a daughter, Louisa A. DelSignore of Pittsfield; a son, Mark Anthony DelSignore of Pittsfield; a grandson, Anthony J. Witherell; four brothers, William Gaffey, John Gaffey, and Robert Gaffey, all of North Adams, and James Gaffey of the state of Florida; as well as several sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.

She was pre-deceased by two brothers, Donald Gaffey and Patrick Gaffey who was killed during the Korean War, and a sister, Mary Pellerin.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Florence Elizabeth DelSignore will be private. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care In The Berkshires in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
