Alexander "Al"  Messer
Alexander R. “Al” Messer, 64 of 1008 North State Rd. Cheshire, MA died June 8, 2018 at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born on March 18, 1954 in Pittsfield, MA a son of the late Donald and Gloria Gaviorno Messer. He attended Taconic High School and was enrolled in the auto body program. Mr. Messer was a self employed roofer, painter and chimney repair man. He attended St. Joseph’s Church and enjoyed going to the Nautilus Gym and the YMCA Gym. He was a avid runner and enjoyed boxing, camping and fishing and was a outdoorsman.
He is survived by his life partner of 36 years, Holly M. Martin. Two sons, Alexander F. Messer of Cheshire and Josh Martin of Caribou, Maine. Two daughters, Jeannette Messer of Cheshire and Natalie Messer of Adams. Five Brothers, Allen Laurent of Pittsfield, Pete Viner of Tennessee, Joseph Messer of Stephentown, NY, Robert Messer of the State of Florida and Donald Messer of Pittsfield. Three grandchildren, Alexander, Jasmine Mariah and Lilly Belle, A step sister, Michelle Pettograsso of Pittsfield, Two step brothers, Larry Laurent of Worcester, MA and Lucien Laurent of Pownal, VT. God children, Santino, Rebecca, Joseph and Cheyenne.
He was predeceased by a sister, Gloria Jean Williams.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Al Messer will be held Friday, June 15, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St. Pittsfield,MA. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers memorials in his memory be made to Dery Funeral Home to defray funeral expenses.
