Obituary for Patrick J Callahan

Patrick J. Callahan, 71, of 777 Williams Street, Pittsfield, passed away peacefully May 9, 2018 at Berkshire Medical Center.

He was born May 3, 1947, the son of the late Lawrence and Ellen Walsh Callahan. He was a graduate of Pittsfield High School. He worked for as an assembler for General Dynamics, retiring in 2016 after a 51 year career. Mr. Callahan also worked as a carpenter on the side.

He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and enjoyed fishing and going to the beach.

Mr. Callahan leaves behind his daughters, Kristie Callahan of Pittsfield and Deborah Gregory and her husband Matt; two sisters, Susan Menard and her husband Peter of Windsor, and Bonnie Ditello and her husband David of Pittsfield; his four grandchildren, Cameron, Connor, Curran, and Cassondra Pularo; his former wife and caregiver, Rosemary DiMartino Callahan of Pittsfield. He also leaves several nieces and nephews, as well as his companions, his beloved dogs, Mugsey, JJ and Brap. He was predeceased by his sister Debby Callahan.

The family would like to give many thanks to his caregiver Sharon Bleichinger, and the Renal Dialysis at Berkshire Medical Center and the friends he made there.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Patrick J. Callahan will be held, Monday, May 14, 2018 at 12:00 noon with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Church, celebrated by Rev. Christopher J. Waitekus. Burial will follow at St Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to FORD, Friends of Renal Dialysis, or The Moments House in care of Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield, MA.
