Bertha K. Howard, 93 of Pittsfield, passed away March 27, 2018 at Kimball Farms Nursing Facility in Lenox. She was born November 17, 1924 in Pittsfield, MA to Francis and Josephina Szywala Kaminski.

Bertha graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1942. She was employed as a secretary at the Marians of the Immaculate Conception for 10 years.

She leaves behind two sons, Charles Howard Jr., and his fiancé Debra Daigneaut of Hilliard, FL; and David Howard and his wife Diane of Myakka City, FL; three grandchildren, Jennifer Purvis, Matthew Howard, and Mary Howard; great grandchildren, Aubrey Harward, Tripp Purvis, John “Howie” Payne, Lauren Payne, Lacey Howard, Logan Tibbetts, Madison Tibbetts, Brayden Tibbetts, and Winter Tibbetts; as well as two cousins Edward Watroba and Carol Watroba.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Bertha K. Howard will be held Monday, April 2, 2018 at 1:00pm at Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield, MA, with Rev. David E. Aufiero officiating. Burial will follow at St. Josephs Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Sunday, April 1, 2018 from 4:00pm-6:00pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the American Heart Association.
