Obituary for William J Killackey


Pittsfield William J. Killackey, age 88, of Strong Avenue, died Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Berkshire Medical Center. He was born in Pittsfield on January 10, 1930, the son of the late William J. and Ruth Tregaskis Killackey. He was educated in Pittsfieldschools and graduated from Pittsfield High School.

William was employed as a machinist for many years for the General Electric Company and had also worked as a security guard. He enjoyed camping, hiking, and tinkering with his guns.

Mr. Killackey is survived by his wife: Sally Rogers Killackey; his four daughters: Karen Jornot of Hornbrook, CA, Lee Ann Killackey of Dalton, MA, Nancy Bissaillon of Adams, MA, and Lynn Rheaume of Pittsfield; his two step-sons: Douglas MacGregor Cochrane of Lee, and Robert Cochrane of Cheshire; his sister: Leona Botto of Pittsfield; his brother: Ray (and Patricia) Killackey of Pittsfield; his sister-in-law: Theresa Gazaw of Friendswood, TX; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and his great-great-granddaughter. He was pre-deceased by his son: Norman Killackey; his sister: Elizabeth Pires; his grand-daughter: Miranda Lee Brown; and his former wife: Annamae Brunelle Killackey.

FUNERAL NOTICE Calling hours will be held THURSDAY from 4:00 until 6:00 PM at the DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield. Funeral services will be FRIDAY, MARCH 16, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Joel Huntington officiating. Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice in care of the funeral home
