Esther May Knappe of Pittsfield, aged 69, passed away March 5th at Brigham Hospital in Boston. Born March 2nd, 1949 to the late Gordon and Marjorie Gates, she attended Pittsfield Public Schools where she met her husband whom she married on October 11, 1969. Esther raised 3 children with her husband Michael Knappe Sr., and 3 loving granddaughters.

She joins her husband, brothers and sisters Chris, Joanne, Teresa, Lorraine, Gordon and John; and her daughters Linda Melchoiri and Michelle Knappe. She leaves behind a sister Geraldine Daley, 3 granddaughters Danielle Melchori, Elizabeth Melchori and Kendra Richards; and her son Michael Knappe Jr.


FUNERAL NOTICE: Calling hours for Esther May Knappe will be held Wednesday March 14, 2018 from 4:00-6:00pm at Dery Funeral Home in Pittsfield.
