Obituary for Lucille B Carmody (Lusignan)

Lucille Beatrice (nee Lusignan) Carmody, 92, died peacefully at her home on February 3, 2018.
Lucille was a lifelong resident of Pittsfield. She was raised in the Morningside section where she met her husband, Joseph. Married for 49 years, until Joe’s death in 2001, they raised five children (Anne Molloy, Paul, Kathleen (Anthony) Sinico, Cecilia (William) Shea and Jayne (Louis) Shogry). She loved her role of “Grammy” supporting her 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren who loved her dearly and will miss her greatly.
Lucille started her work career at GE and worked several places after her children were in school. Her favorite job at the Yarn Barn showcased her real passion and talent for knitting. She taught beginners, fixed and created patterns and enjoyed helping others with their projects. She was an avid reader, Red Sox fan, competitive card player and team bowler. Lucille was a lifelong member of Saint Mark’s parish and volunteered for many years at the food pantry and Bingo concessions to support the church members.
Lucille’s true love was her extended family. She always enjoyed the family picnics with the aunts, uncles and cousins held at the many state parks throughout Berkshire County. She instilled a love for the outdoors and was known to attend many sporting events involving her grandchildren. She will always be famously remembered for her ginger snap and chocolate chip cookies.
The family wishes to thank Hospice Care in the Berkshires, specifically, Tracy, Jill and Edy who came to know her.
