Obituary for Leonard Stomski
Cheshire- Leonard A. Stomski, 83, of Cheshire, MA, passed away January 18, 2018. He was the son of the late Brownislaw Stomski and Stasia Stomski (Kijck).
Mr. Stomski attended Pittsfield schools, proudly served in the U.S. Navy in the Korean War, and then studied at Vesper George School of Art.
He married the former Doris Marie Cyr, August 22, 1959.
Mr. Stomski was a professional artist for 58 years. His fine art included many landscapes, seascapes, and portraits for which he received many awards and critical acclaim. He shared his passion and talent for art with his students by teaching and hosting numerous workshops. His work is on display in many private and public collections around the world.
Besides his wife, he leaves three children, Brian (Elisa) Stomski, Sandra Knapp, and Steven (Laura) Stomski, and; one brother, Richard Stomski; two grandchildren, Jacqueline Stomski and Mary Settle, and 3 great grandchildren (David, Evangeline, and Charles Settle).
Funeral notice: A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church in Cheshire at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 27th celebrated by Rev. Fr. Matthew Guidi, pastor. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary’s of the Assumption Parish in Cheshire, in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
