Robert J. Gilbert, 71, of 49 Bartlett Avenue passed away on Monday, November 27, 2017 at Hillcrest Commons of Pittsfield. Born on November 21, 1946 in Pittsfield, he was the son of the late Alfred and Hilda Olmstead Gilbert. A lifelong Pittsfield resident, he was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a 1965 graduate of Pittsfield High School. A welder, he was employed at General Electric and its successor General Dynamics for over fifty years. He retired in 2002. He was a communicant of the former Notre Dame Church. An avid painter and photographer, he was also a published artist. He leaves a son; Christopher J. Gilbert and his wife Lynda of Myrtle Beach, SC and a daughter; Lyndsay L. Morrison and her husband Jason of Pittsfield. He also leaves four grandchildren; Devlyn Gilbert, Tamara DeL Soldato, Hollis DeL Soldato and Bethany Gilbert and two great granddaughters; Payton and Mackenzie.


FUNERAL NOTICE: Calling hours for Robert J. Gilbert who passed away November 27, 2017 will be held Friday, December 1, 2017 from 3 PM to 4 PM at the DERY FUNERAL HOME. A Prayer Service will follow at 4 PM. Memorial donations in memory of Bob may be made to the Robert J.
