Obituary for Frank John Polastri
Frank John Polastri, 85, formerly of South Street, Cheshire, died Monday, December 4, 2017, at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Cheshire on July 27, 1932, the son of Steve and Giuseppina Delmolino Polastri,
he was educated in Cheshire schools and was a 1950 graduate of Adams High School.
Mr. Polastri was employed by General Electric Company where he was a production
clerk in the Power Transformer Department and in the Navy Ordnance Systems Division. He
retired in 1992 with 41 ½ years service.
He was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church and had served on the
Parish Council.
He served the Town of Cheshire as a selectman for twenty-one years.
He is survived by two nephews, Stephen Polastri of Pittsfield and Paul Polastri of
Pittsfield; three nieces, Sheila LaBarbera of Pittsfield, Mary Walk of Chester Springs, Penn.,
and Jennifer Charron of Lakeville, Minn.; and a sister-in-law, Ann Polastri, of Pittsfield.
He was pre-deceased by a brother, Aldo D. Polastri, who died March 21, 1999, and by a
sister, Flora Burzimati, who died August 15, 1991.
FUNERAL NOTICE:
Funeral services for Frank John Polastri will be held Saturday, December 9, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m., at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Cheshire celebrated by Rev. Matthew Guidi, Pastor. Burial will follow in Cheshire Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary of the Assumption Church in care of DERY-CHESHIRE FUNERAL HOME, P.O. Box 445, Cheshire, 01225.
