Obituary for Joseph H. Farrington

Joseph Henry Farrington, 82, formerly of Dalton, died Sunday, November 5, 2017, at
Great Barrington Healthcare.
Born in Lenox on June 26, 1935, the son of James A. and Katherine J. Feeney Farrington,
he was educated in Lenox and Pittsfield schools and was a 1954 graduate of St. Joseph Central
High School.
He served with the United States Army from 1958 to 1960.
Mr. Farrington was employed by Crane & Company where he was a security guard. He retired in 1999, at the age of 64, with more than thirty years service.
Mr. Farrington was a communicant of St. Agnes Church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus where he was a Fourth Degree Knight with the Msgr. Eugene F. Marshall Council 103, and with the Bishop Conaty Assembly 395.
He enjoyed playing golf, skiing, and visiting family.
Mr. Farrington is survived by his sister-in-law, Joan Farrington, of Vermont; as well as
several nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by his brother, James A. Farrington; and by his five sisters, Katherine Harold, Madeline Farrington, Alyce Rose, Rosalie Gibbs, and Vera Taylor.


FUNERAL NOTICE:
Funeral services for Joseph Henry Farrington will be held Saturday, November 11, with a
Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m. at St. Agnes Church celebrated by Rev. Christopher A.
Malatesta. Burial will follow in St. Ann’s Cemetery in Lenox.
Calling hours will be Friday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME in
Dalton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the James A. Farrington
Memorial Fund of St. Thomas Church in Underhill, Vermont or to Knights of Columbus Council
103 College Scholarship Fund, both in care of DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, 890 East Main
Street, Dalton.
