Obituary for Theresa Agnes Brown-Cook

Theresa  Agnes   Brown-Cook
Theresa Agnes Brown-Cook, age 91, of North State Road, Cheshire, died Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at the home of her daughter and best friend Darlene and son-in-law John who took excellent care of her. She was born in Pittsfield on September 25, 1926, the daughter of the late Michael and Bertha Harrington Jamross. She was educated in Pittsfield and had attended the former St. Charles School.
Theresa had been employed at the former Sheaffer-Eaton as an assembler for fifteen years. She had also worked as a spinner for ten years at the former Elmvale Company, as well as the former Rice’s Silk Mill; she had also worked in the housekeeping department at Hillcrest Hospital. She was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Cheshire and St. Mark’s Church in Pittsfield. She enjoyed going to the casinos to gamble and shop.
Theresa married the late Frank Brown, and had married Allan V. Cook.
Mrs. Brown-Cook is survived by her daughter, Darlene Collins (husband John) of Cheshire, with whom she made her home; two sons, Franklin G. Brown (significant other Barbara Mills) of Hinsdale, and Mitchell K. Brown (wife Marygrace) of Pittsfield; a stepdaughter, Linda Reid of Pittsfield; two sisters, Roseann Ravizza of Pittsfield and Evelyn Arthur of Pittsfield; two brothers, Donald Jamross (Betty) of Pittsfield and William Jamross of Pittsfield; as well as eight grandchildren, Joseph Collins, Jeffrey Collins, Tammy Armstrong, Shaun Brown, Breanna Brown, Joy Sears, Julie Brown, Jeanna Massacani; three step grandchildren, Jeremy, Chris, and Jenna; and thirteen great grandchildren; and her grand dog, Pearl.
She was pre-deceased by three brothers, Mitchell Jamross, Robert Jamross, Francis Jamross, and two sisters, Shirley Jamross and Dorothy Jamross.


FUNERAL NOTICE:
Funeral services for Theresa Agnes Brown-Cook will be held Monday, October
30, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m., at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Cheshire. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Pittsfield.
Calling hours will be on Sunday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., at DERY-CHESHIRE FUNERAL HOME, 121 North State Road, Cheshire.
