Deborah A. Reed, 71, of 1 Hazelwood Court passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Berkshire Medical Center. Born on December 15, 1945 in Herkimer, NY, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Evelyn Perry Corkery. A longtime Dalton resident, she was educated in Herkimer schools and was a 1965 graduate of Herkimer High School. She also graduated from the Utica Beauty School in Utica, NY in 1966. She was employed for ten years as a para-professional with the Central Berkshire Regional School District at Wahconah Regional High School and also with the Pittsfield Public School System. Deborah was a communicant of St. Agnes Church and served as the longtime cheerleading coach at Wahconah for twenty years. She enjoyed knitting, reading books, and loving her dogs. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She leaves her husband; Keith L. Reed of Dalton whom she married on February 19, 1966 in Herkimer, NY. Two daughters; Leslie Ann Rench and her husband David of Quechee, VT and Melissa E. Tarjick and her husband Raymond of Becket. A son; Shawn P. Reed and his wife Nicole of Dalton. She also leaves her loving grandchildren; Nicholas Rench, Alexander Rench, Anna Rench, Sydney Tarjick and Alexys Tarjick and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother; Gordon D. Hough and by two sisters; Joan A. Cirelli and Judith A. Corkery. The Reed family would like to thank all of the doctors, nurses, and staff members in the Intensive Care Unit at Berkshire Medical Center for their compassionate care for our family during this difficult time.




FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Deborah A. Reed who passed away October 14, 2017 will be held Friday at 9:15 AM from the DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME in DALTON followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Agnes Church in Dalton celebrated by the Rev. Christopher Malatesta, pastor. Burial will follow in Ashuelot Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 4 PM to 7 PM at the funeral home in Dalton. Memorial donations in memory of Deborah may be made to the Friends of Renal Dialysis at BMC in care of the funeral home, 890 Main Street, Dalton, MA 01226.
