Obituary for Eleanor May Spaniol Gardner (Butler)
Eleanor May Spaniol Gardner, age 91 of Pittsfield, died SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 17, 2017. She was born in Pittsfield on January 11, 1926, the daughter of the late George and Ruth Norton Butler. She was educated in Pittsfield schools.
Primarily a homemaker, Eleanor had worked in her younger years at the former Newberry’s and Rice Silk Mill. She enjoyed Bingo.
Eleanor is pre-deceased by her three husbands: Robert Spaniol, Ephram Pratt, and Cleon Gardner.
She is survived by her 3 sons: Robert Spaniol and his wife Dorothy of Pittsfield, Timothy Spaniol and his companion Ashley of Massachusetts, and Gerald Spaniol and his wife Joanne of Punta Gorda, FL; 6 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. She was also pre-deceased by her son: Bruce Spaniol in 2010; her 2 brothers: George Butler and Wesley Butler; and her sister: Dorothy Proper.
FUNERAL NOTICE There are no calling hours. A graveside service will be held at Pittsfield Cemetery at a later date.
