Obituary for Jeanette R. DiNicola

Pittsfield – Jeanette Rena DiNicola, 75, passed away suddenly on August 21, 2017 at home. Born in Pittsfield on December 14, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Giovanni and Annadomenica (DiNicola) DiNicola. She attended Pittsfield Public Schools. Jeanette was a long time member and volunteer with the Salvation Army. She was also part of numerous organizations and enjoyed volunteering her time. She was a volunteer at RSVP, Pittsfield Council on Aging, U.C.P., Elder Services and Ralph Froio Senior Center. In 2002 she received the President’s Volunteer Award from then President George W. Bush. An avid reader, Jeanette was a member of Friends of Berkshire Athenaeum. She also enjoyed playing the organ, traveling; especially going on cruises and camps and retreats with the Salvation Army. However her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Jeanette is survived by her sister; Rose C. Dawley of Pittsfield, her brother; Justin J. DiNicola and his wife Shirley of Pittsfield, her sister-in-law RaeAnn DiNicola of Pittsfield and many beloved nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by family and her countless friends. She was predeceased by her sisters; Clara R. DiNicola and Reva D’Ilio and her brother; Americo DiNicola. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral Services for Jeanette R. DiNicola who died August 21, 2017 will be held Friday September 22, 2017 at 11 a.m. at The Salvation Army, 298 West Street, Pittsfield. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Salvation Army or United Cerebral Palsy in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 BRADFORD STREET, PITTSFIELD.
