Obituary for Norma Chase

Norma Chase, 92, of Lanesboro passed away at home on August 25, 2017. She had a sweet and warm demeanor that won the hearts of many. Her kindness, patience, tenacity, and sense of humor will always be remembered. The many ways she touched our lives will be with us forever.
She was born July 10, 1925 in Pittsfield, MA. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Gladys Cobb. Following her graduation from PHS, she worked at GE, Eaton’s Paper Company, and as a homemaker. For many years she was her mother’s caregiver.
Her church family at the Evangelical Free Church and her neighbors were very important to her. She loved how Pastor Dave greeted her at the door and walked her arm-in- arm to her seat.
Norma enjoyed road trips, baking, sewing and knitting. She loved spending time gardening, however, trimming/butchering bushes was not her forte. At 91 she was still mowing her lawn. Quiet Norma had a wild side from time to time. On her 90th birthday she took a spin on the back of a 3 wheel motorcycle. What she loved most of all was spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Karen Rollins and her husband Richard of San Jose, CA, and Marsha Vinette and husband Richard of Lanesboro. She dearly loved her two grandsons, Rian Harford (Katie-Rose DeCandia) and Jereme Vinette (Jacqueline Vinette). She also leaves her sister-in-law Elizabeth Chase, and several nieces and nephews. Norma enjoyed time spent with her two great granddaughters. She was predeceased by the love of her life, Lawrence Chase, her husband of 55 years as well as her brother-in-law, Ernest Chase, and siblings Robert, Richard, and Raymond Cobb and Gladys Zawistowski.
Our family would like to thank the staff at Kindred Laurel Lake, Hospice of the Berkshires, and BMC. RN Matt Gottung left a profound impact on our lives.

Funeral Notice: There are no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to a gathering at Zucchini’s Restaurant in Pittsfield on Thursday, August 31 from 2:00-4:00p.m.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
