Obituary for Ralph C. "“Radar”" Biagini

Ralph   C.  "“Radar”"  Biagini
Ralph “Radar” C. Biagini, 76, of E. Main St. Cheshire, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday August 26, 2017 at Berkshire Medical Ceter. Born in Cheshire on July 16, 1941, he was the son of Raymond and Delina (Borosso) Biagini.
A lifelong resident of Cheshire, Ralph attended Cheshire and Adams schools and was a graduate of the former Adams Memorial High School. At the age of 19 in 1960 he enlisted in the United States Airforce and served his country during the Vietnam War. He was Honorably Discharged in 1964.
Ralph worked for Adams Aladco as a supervisor for forty plus years. He was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Parish and also worked at Cheshire Cemetery for twelve years and most recently was the Supervisor of Maintenance at Cheshire Cemetery.
He enjoyed playing pitch in the pitch league at Cheshire Fire Department; BINGO at St. Mark Church in Pittsfield and trips to the Harrah’s Casino in Atlantic City.
Ralph also proudly served his community of Cheshire; he was a Captain on the Cheshire Police Department for thirty plus years; he was a dedicated Volunteer Fireman for the Cheshire Fire Department for fifty years; he also served as a Cheshire Town Official and Constable for 30 years, he was a member of the Advisory Board in Cheshire for 12 years; and served as an Umpire for the Cheshire Little League/Farm League for many years.
Ralph is survived by his wife; the former Diane M. Wandrei whom he married May 6, 1967; his son; Mark R. Biagini and his wife Dollie of Cheshire; his granddaughters; Sarah J. Biagini and Elizabeth L. Biagini both of Cheshire; his Uncle Anthony Biagini and his wife Margaret of Euster, FL.
Ralph was predeceased by his parents and his Aunt and Uncle Theodore and Sandy Janas.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Captain Ralph C. Biagini, who passed away August 26, 2017 will be held Thursday at 9:15 AM from the DERY-CHESHIRE FUNERAL HOME in CHESHIRE followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Mary of the Assumption Church celebrated by Rev. Matthew Guidi, Pastor. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Full Cheshire Fire and Police Department Honors will be held outside the church immediately after mass. Calling hours will be held Wednesday evening from 4 to 7pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a College fund to benefit Ralph’s granddaughters in care of DERY-CHESHIRE FUNERAL HOME, 121 North State Road, Cheshire MA 01225.
