Obituary for Lois Irene Couture (Sanders)
Lois Irene Couture, 81, of 71 Patricia Avenue, Dalton, died Friday, September 1, 2017, at
Craneville Place of Dalton.
Born in Pittsfield on December 27, 1935, the daughter of Archie and Gladys Parker Sanders, she was a high school graduate and graduated Berkshire Business College.
Together with her late husband, Mrs. Couture owned and operated Coffee Automat
Service. She had, at one time, worked for Eaton Paper Company.
Mrs. Couture was a communicant of St. Agnes Church.
She enjoyed traveling the United States with her husband and friends, visiting a great deal of the national parks. She also enjoyed shopping, fashion and decorating her home. Lois enjoyed dining out frequently from the Springs to the Tahiti. She always looked forward to her many trips to the casinos.
Her husband, Armand Couture, died November 19, 2008.
Mrs. Couture is survived by two sons, Robert D. Couture of Pittsburgh, Penn., and Mark
C. Couture of south Florida; a brother, Edwin Sanders of Dalton; two grandchildren, Danielle Couture and Christine Couture of West Palm Beach, Fla., and a great grandchild, Rolidean. She also leaves her real true friend Donald "Rusty" McDonald who was always there for her when she needed him.
She was pre-deceased by her brother, Robert A. Sanders, late of Dalton.
Funeral Notice:
Funeral services for Lois Irene Couture will be held Friday, September 8, with a
Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Agnes Church celebrated by Rev. Christopher A.
Malatesta, Pastor. Burial will follow in Ashuelot Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday, from
4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME in Dalton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to HospiceCare in The Berkshires in care of the Funeral Home, 890 East Main Street, Dalton.
