Obituary for John J. Kordana

John J. Kordana, 53, of 72 Harryel Street passed away on Monday,
July 24, 2017 at home. Born on April 19, 1964 in Pittsfield, he was a son of the late John A. and Florence Arms Kordana. A lifelong Pittsfield resident, he was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a 1983 graduate of Pittsfield High School. He also graduated from Berkshire Community College in 1985 with an Associate Degree in Business Administration. At the time of his passing John was employed as a jewelry associate at Walmart in Pittsfield where he had worked for the past twenty years. He had also worked at the former Red Lobster Restaurant in Pittsfield at one time. He was a communicant of St. Agnes Church. He enjoyed going to tag sales and celebrity star conventions. He was an avid fan of the New England Patriots and New York Yankees. He also enjoyed anything that had to do with pirates and pirate ships. He married his wife, the late Celeste Wibby Kordana on May 10, 2003. She passed away also on July 24, 2017. He leaves his brother; James A. Kordana and his wife Kris of Pittsfield. His uncles: Peter Arms and his wife Nancy of Pittsfield, John Murphy and his wife Bernice of Pittsfield, Vincent Doucette and his wife Helen of Pittsfield and Bruce and Connie Eggleston. He also leaves his father and mother-in-law; Robert and Stella Methe Wibby of Pittsfield and his brother-in-law; Benjamin J. Wibby and his wife Alison and their children; Rhiannon, Jesse and Gwynevere and many cousins.


FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for John and Celeste Kordana who passed away July 24, 2017 will be held Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 10:00 AM at St. Agnes Church in Dalton celebrated by the Rev. Christopher A. Malatesta, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery in Hinsdale. The Wibby and Kordana families wish to extend an invitation to family and friends to a reception immediately following the burial at the Dalton American Legion on North Street. Calling hours for John and Celeste will be held Wednesday from 4 to 7 PM at the DERY FUNERAL HOME in PITTSFIELD. Memorial donations in memory of John and Celeste may be made to the George L. Curran VFW Auxiliary in North Adams in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
