Obituary for Ernest R. Shaw

Ernest R.  Shaw
Ernest R. Shaw, 71, of 28 Swamp Road in Lanesboro passed away on Sunday at Berkshire Medical Center. Born on June 7, 1946 in Adams, he was the son of the late Alfred and Dorothy Clairmont Shaw. A longtime Lanesboro resident, he was educated in Adams schools and was a graduate of Charles H. McCann Technical School in North Adams. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Army. Mr. Shaw was employed for thirty-seven years with R. I. Baker in Clarksburg as a pipe fitter and welder. He retired in 2008. He had also owned and operated his own radiator repair shop for many years. He was a member of the Lanesboro VFW. He enjoyed hunting and going to the ocean in Maine. He was also a fan of the Boston Red Sox. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. He leaves his wife; Marsha Bailey Shaw of Lanesboro whom he married on May 30, 1986. Three sons; Dale R. Shaw and his significant other; Melissa A. Bassett of Adams, Wayne Rozon Jr. of Adams and Scott Rozon and his wife Beatrice of Adams. A sister; Priscilla Gurney of the State of Florida. He also leaves five grandchildren; Ashely Moore and her husband Rob, Noah Razon, Aliza Razon, Brian Plouffe and Paul Plouffe Jr. He also leaves two great grandchildren; Hailey Moore and Tyler Moore.


FUNERAL NOTICE: A graveside service with military honors for Ernest R. Shaw who passed away July 16, 2017 will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM in Bellvue Cemetery in Adams conducted by the Rev. William Furey, pastor of Berkshire Union Chapel in Lanesboro. There are no calling hours. Memorial donations in memory of Mr. Shaw may be made to the Lanesboro VFW Food Pantry in care of the DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St. Pittsfield, MA 01201 which is handling arrangements.
