Obituary for Earl W. "Barney" Nimons Jr.

Earl W. "Barney" Nimons, Jr., age 69, of 1232 North Street, Passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 1, 2016. He was born in Pittsfield on August 30, 1946, the son of the late Earl W. Nimons, Sr. and the former Geraldine M. Goddeau Nimons. He was educated in Pittsfield schools. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam Era.
Barney was employed as a long distance truck driver for the Arnold and Western Express Trucking Companies for many years. He was a member of the Pittsfield VFW Chapter 65. He was also a starter for the Lebanon Valley Raceway for the drag races in the 1990s. He loved working on cars and lawnmowers (in fact, he leaves behind his beloved CHE-MOWER which he built from scratch). Barney's hobbies also included building very large tractor trailer truck models.
Barney is survived by his son: Scott W. Nimons of Pittsfield; his two sisters: Cathy Underhill, with whom he lived, and "Cookie" Drumm of Hinsdale, MA; his four nephews; and his former wife: Kathy Sinopoli Nimons of Pittsfield.

FUNERAL NOTICE Funeral services will be WEDNESDAY at 12:00 PM at the DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield with full military honors. A calling hour will be held from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at the funeral home.
