Obituary for Terry F. Young

Terry F. Young, 62, of 23 Centennial Avenue, Dalton, died Thursday,
November 1, 2012, at his home.
Born in Pittsfield on August 14, 1950, son of the late Clifford and Stella Jakubiec
Young, he was educated in Dalton schools and was a 1968 graduate of Wahconah Regional High School.
A Viet Nam veteran, Mr. Young served with the United States Navy from September 16, 1969, until December 6, 1970, when he was honorably discharged and
awarded the Purple Heart and Combat Action Ribbon.
At the time of his death, Mr. Young was the owner-operator of CTL Trucking
Company in Dalton, which he had owned and operated for more than forty years.
From 1968 until 1997, Mr. Young was the Superintendent of Streets for the
Town of Dalton. He was a past member of the Dalton Volunteer Fire Department.
Mr. Young was a communicant of St. Agnes Church and a member of the
Anthony J. DeAngelus Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Dalton.
He enjoyed being with his children, his dogs, and his trucks. He also enjoyed
traveling and going to the ocean, to Lake George, and to Hampton Beach.
Mr. Young is survived by his fiancée, Karen A. Blake-Wells of Dalton; two sons,
Tyler C. Young of Dalton and Chad A. Young of Pittsfield; his lifelong friend, Rosemarie Robert of Peru, and his best friend, Joseph Szczpaniak of Lanesborough.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Terry Frederick Young will be held Monday, November 5, 2012 at 9:15 a.m. from DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME in Dalton with a Liturgy of Christian
Burial at 10:00 a.m., at St. Agnes Church celebrated by Rev. Christopher A. Malatesta,
Pastor. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Ashuelot Cemetery. Calling hours
will be Sunday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers,
contributions in memory of Mr. Young may be made to the Dalton Volunteer Fire
Department in care of the Dery-Foley Funeral Home, 890 East Main Street, Dalton.
