Obituary for Cecile A. Zink

Cecile A. Zink, 98, born March 27, 1916, a long-time Windsor resident, died Monday, January 19, 2015, at Springside Nursing Home in Pittsfield where she had been a resident for the past eight years.
Cecile was married to Mervin Zink for 52 years and operated Windy Acres Registered
Jersey Farm. Mervin passed in November 1989, but Cecile lived on the farm to 2007.
She was a communicant of Notre Dame Church in Pittsfield, a member of St. Ann's
Guild, and the Bingo Committee.
Moving to Windsor in 1952, she started the 4-H Snip Snap Sewing Group, teaching girls in the Town sewing and craft skills. As a 4-H leader for more than 55 years, she received many awards for leadership and dedication to 4-H. Cecile and Mervin chaperoned many of the 4-H
Happy Wanderers exchange trips to many different states.
Cecile was a person of many talents, sewing, ceramics, china painting, jewelry making, and her handcrafted porcelain dolls. As a member of the Windsor Ladies Aid Society, she made
quilts with members and cooked turkeys for the annual turkey suppers. She was a member and Master of Windsor Hilltop Grange #267, and when Hilltop Grange disbanded, became a member of the Dalton Flintstone Grange. She was a kitchen worker at the Crane Inn in Dalton.
Cecile was one of many members of the Windsor Volunteer Fireman Ladies Auxiliary.
She was an active member of the Windsor Senior Center and a member of the Pittsfield Seniors
where she sang and danced with friends in the Senior Follies.
For many years, Cecile was the Windsor Tax Collector.
Cecile leaves her brother, Walter Morin; a son, Robert Zink; and daughters, Shirley
Drew and Carol Malone; twelve grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, and two great
great grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by a grandson.
Cecile's family would like to express a sincere "Thank You' to the many nurses, CNAs,
and the special people who work at the Springside Nursing Home.

FUNERAL NOTICE:
There are no calling hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. The DERY-
FOLEY FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements.
