Obituary for Lovina I. Ethier

Lovina I. Ethier, 84, of Adell St. in Pittsfield died Monday at home. Born in Pittsfield on April 7, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Dorothy Hamlin Robair. A lifelong Pittsfield resident, she was educated in Pittsfield schools. She was predeceased by her husband, the late Edward A. Ethier who died June 9, 1999. Mrs. Ethier was employed as a LPN at the former Hillcrest Hospital for twenty years, she retired in 1996. She was a member of Church of Christ where she was a very active member. She enjoyed volunteering and helping others. She also enjoyed working on the community garden at Church of Christ. She leaves three sons: Edward C. Ethier and his wife Marcia of North Adams, David H. Ethier and his wife Marlene of Pittsfield and James J. Ethier Sr. and his wife Marjorie of Dalton. A brother; Joseph Robair and his wife Carol of Peabody, MA. Three sisters; Minerva Spinale of Peabody, MA, Anna Robair of Tampa, FL, and Ruthie Buchanan of Gloucester, MA. Six grandchildren; James J. Ethier Jr., Carrie A. Ethier, Joshua Ethier, Terri Madison, Eddy Smith, and David B. Ethier. She also leaves six great grandchildren; James J. Ethier III, Jacob E. Ethier, Camila G. Roldan, Kaden Ethier, Destiny Madison and Megan Madison. She was predeceased by two brothers; Charles Robair and Arthur Ethier and by three sisters; Dorothy Berkowitz, Elizabeth Gennari and Leona Robair.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Lovina I. Ethier, 84, of Pittsfield who died March 23, 2015 will be held Friday at 11:30 AM at the DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield conducted by the Rev. Russell Moody and the Rev. Charles Young, pastors of Church of Christ in Pittsfield. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Friday from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial donations in memory of Lovina may be made to the Church of Christ in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St. Pittsfield, MA 01201.
