Albert Anthony Ingegni, Jr., 92, of 39 Walchenbach Circle at Salisbury Estates, Pittsfield,
died Friday, June 12, 2015, at Kimball Farms Nursing Care Center in Lenox. Prior to coming to
Pittsfield seventeen years ago, he had been a fifty-two year resident of West Stockbridge.
Born in Lee on June 22, 1922, the son of Albert A. Ingegni, Sr., and Savina Angelini
Ingegni, he was educated in Lee schools and was a 1939 graduate of Lee High School.
Continuing his education, he graduated from the former Berkshire Business College with a
degree in accounting.
Mr. Ingegni was a World War II United States Army veteran and a member of the
elite Office of Strategic Services (OSS). As a paratrooper, he jumped occupied Italy with a small token force and remained there aiding the escape of hundreds of allied prisoners of war for which he earned the bronze star and numerous other medals of honor.
Mr. Ingegni was employed by Mead Corporation in Lee where he was a Cost Accountant. He retired in 1983 with 27 years. Prior to that, he had been the Assistant Superintendent of Monument Mills in Housatonic for many years.
He was a communicant of St. Mark Church in Pittsfield and had been a communicant
of the Corpus Christi Parish in Housatonic. He was a life member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Housatonic.
While in West Stockbridge, Mr. Ingegni served on the Planning Board, the Finance Committee, and the Volunteer Fire Department.
Mr. Ingegni leaves his beloved wife of 70 years, the former Constance Toolin, whom he
married December 18, 1944, in Corpus Christi Church in Housatonic.
He is also survived by two sons, Albert A. Ingegni, III., and his wife, Karen, of Pittsfield,
and Thomas Toolin Ingegni and his wife, Sally, of Rochester, New Hampshire; his grand-daughter, the love of his life, Alyssa A. Ingegni and her fiancé, Chester Lee, of Brunswick,
New York; a brother, George Ingegni and his wife, Kathleen, of Lee, and a sister, Arlene Kigin of
Virginia.
He was pre-deceased by a brother, William B. Ingegni, and two sisters, Mary Serra and
Catherine Wilson.
The Ingegni Family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Berkshire
Medical Center and the staff at Kimball Farms Nursing Care Center for the kind and compassionate care Mr. Ingegni received.


FUNERAL NOTICE:
Funeral services for Albert Anthony Ingegni, Jr. will be held Wednesday, June 17,
with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m., at St. Mark Church, 400 West Street, Pittsfield.
Military honors will follow.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, June 16, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Ingegni may be made to Soldier On
in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
