Obituary for Jacob L. Navroski

Jacob Lawrence Navroski, Jr. 87, formerly of 379 East Street, Providence Court died Thursday, September 3, 2015 at Hillcrest Commons where he has resided since March 1st.
Born on August 3, 1928 in Swoyersville, PA a son of Polish immigrants Jacob L. Navroski Sr. and Edna Toporek Navroski. He attended schools in Pennsylvania. He was a World War II, Korean and Vietnam War veteran serving with the United States Marine and United States Army.
He was last employed for the General Electric Company for twenty years as a security guard and had also worked part time for the US Postal Service in Pittsfield as a mail sorter. He enjoyed fishing and bowling. He was a communicant of Saint Joseph's Church.
His wife the former Theresa J. Unger whom he married July 22, 1950 at Holy Family Church in Nazareth, PA died October 7, 2006.
He leaves three sons, Ronald Navroski of Virginia, John Navroski of Pittsfield and Arnold Navroski and his wife Tammy of Virginia. Four daughters, Diane Navroski of Smithfield, NC, Kathleen Craig and husband Ken of SC, Joan Williams and husband Joseph of Pittsfield and Debra Navroski of Smithfield, NC. Nine grandchildren and Eleven Great Grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at the DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St. Pittsfield, MA with the Rev. Msgr. Michael Shershanovich, pastor of St. Joseph's Church officiating. Burial will follow in Saint Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at Dery Funeral Home will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorials in his memory may be made to Saint Joseph's Church in care of the funeral home.
