Obituary for Mary Ann Northrup

MARY ANN NORTHRUP, 78, formerly of 37 Waubeek Road, Pittsfield, passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2016, at Kimball Farms Nursing Care Center where she had resided since February.
Born in Pittsfield on December 31, 1937, the daughter of Leon A. and Edith Barzouskas Winterkorn, she was a 1955 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Mrs. Northrup had been employed for ten years as a piece worker at the former Sheaffer-Eaton Textron. She later worked ten years as a waitress at the Highland Restaurant,
and most recently eight years in the Laundry Department at Canyon Ranch.
She enjoyed art, especially painting and crafts, sewing and gardening. She was also
a lover of animals, and enjoyed bingo.
Mrs. Northrup is survived by three daughters, Katherine Northrup Lyon (and her husband Jeff) of Pittsfield, Marybeth Pompi-Walker of Englewood, Colorado, and Colleen
Northrup Foisy (and her husband Dwane) of Pittsfield; two sons, Ransom E. Northrup, III, (and
his fiancée Pam) of Pittsfield, Shaun P. Northrup (and his wife Ann) of Pittsfield; nine grand-
children, Randy Northrup, IV., Kelly Northrup, Jeffrey Lyon, Jennifer Lyon, Dylan Northrup, Mallory Northrup, Nathan Pompi, Molly Northrup, and Patrick Northrup; and six great grandchildren; as well as two brothers, Leon Winterkorn of Plattsburgh, N.Y., and Richard Winterkorn of Pownal, Vermont.
She was pre-deceased by a daughter, Kelley Ann; a brother, Michael Winterkorn, a sister, Dorothy Winterkorn, and her former husband, Ransom E. Northrup, Jr.
Mary Ann's family would like to extend heart-felt appreciation for the care and compassion provided by the Sedgwick Unit nurses and staff and countless others who touched her life in those final days with tenderness we will never forget.

FUNERAL NOTICE:
Funeral services for Mary Ann Northrup will be private with burial to be in St. Joseph's
Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Eleanor Sonsini Animal Shelter in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
