Obituary for Rose Stomski Tifft LaCasse

Rose Stomski Tifft LaCasse died peacefully at Craneville Place of Dalton on Saturday, March 4, 2017, after a brief stay. Born September 7, 1928, in Great Barrington, MA, she was the daughter of the late Sadie Kijek Stomski Miller and the late Brownislaw Stomski.
A 1947 graduate of PHS, Rose worked initially for 14 years at City Hall as senior clerk. Later she worked for the Pittsfield School System Research Department, were she was for over 30 years.
She is predeceased by her husbands, H. Robert Tifft whom she married in April of 1950, and Joseph LaCasse, whom she married in December of 1971.
Rose was the director of the Boys' & Girls' Alumni Club. She was a R.S.V.P. volunteer, and member of the Senior Center of Pittsfield and Lenox. She served on the boards of various organizations including Greylock Quality Time Club, Heart & Cancer Friends, Pittsfield Chamber of Commerce, Pittsfield Senior Center, G.E. Union Pensioners, as well as the Brown Bag at the Senior Center. She was a member of the Council on Aging Advisory Board, Elder Services, Becket Art Association, Berkshire Theatre, and the Berkshire Museum.
When not volunteering or spending time with her many friends, she loved going to casinos, playing cards and games, reading, knitting, and crossword puzzles.
She leaves two brothers, Richard Stomski and his wife Nina of Torrington, CT and Leonard Stomski and his wife Doris of Cheshire, MA, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews that she loved dearly.
She was predeceased by her brothers Bernard Stomski and Edward Stomski.

FUNERAL NOTICE: At Mrs. LaCasse's request, there will be no services. Interment will be in Northwest Cemetery, Richmond, MA. A memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced in the Berkshire Eagle. Memorial donations in memory of Rose may be made to the Boys' and Girls' Alumni Club in care of the DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield, MA which is handling arrangements. In honor of Rose, please do something nice for someone today.
