Obituary for Linda-Marie Nuciforo

Linda-Marie Nuciforo, 93, formerly of Dewey Avenue, passed away on January 27, 2017 at Berkshire Place where she had resided for the past five years. A lifelong Pittsfield resident, she was born on April 15, 1923 in Pittsfield, a daughter of the late Francesco and Anna Maria Alberti Nuciforo. She was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a 1942 graduate of Pittsfield High School. She proudly served her country with the United States Marines during World War II. She was employed for many years as a licensed electrologist. Active in her community, Linda was a volunteer for Pittsfield Beautiful, the Senior Center Film Group and as a docent at the Berkshire Museum. She was a member of the Berkshire County Historical Society and the Planetary Society of Pasadena, California. She also volunteered her time at the Berkshire Athenaeum and as a house guide at Arrowhead, the summer home of Herman Melville. She leaves many nieces, nephews, great nephews and great nieces. She was predeceased by her four sisters; Alvira Nuciforo, Anna Maria Zavaruka, Anita Nuciforo and Carmella Bard and by her two brothers; Anthony Nuciforo and the Honorable Andrea F. Nuciforo Sr.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Graveside Service for Linda-Marie Nuciforo who passed away on January 27, 2017 will be held in the spring at St. Joseph Cemetery at a date and time to be announced. There are no calling hours. Memorial donations in memory of Linda may be made to the Berkshire Athenaeum or to the Berkshire Museum both in care of the DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201 which is handling arrangements.
